PESCA SWEET RING (Platicarpa)
Obtained by crossing varieties at CRA-FRF of Forlì, this is the earliest peach cultivar with flat fruit, boasting top organoleptic properties and appearance. The flesh is yellow, with a hint of red below the skin which, in turn, is 70-80% bright red blush over deep yellow. The fruit has a flat shape and resists cracking, stylar end russetting and peduncular cavity peeling. The average weight is 90 g and the lobes are usually asymmetrical, with a sunken apex and rounded ventral seam. Excellent organoleptic properties with medium - high sweetness and low acidity giving a very pleasant flavour. The ripening period varies depending where it is grown, from the first to the third decade of June.
